Kryos wins a 2007 IBM Lotus Award for Best Portal Solution.

by Steve, December 21

There's probably a hundred ways you could write this post. The cheesy, 'for immediate release' press release. The understated, 'we knew it all along' brag post. The diplomatic, 'congratulations to all our peers' open letter. But this is our blog, and we're writing it, so here it is...

We won! We won! We won! We won! We won! We won! We won!

We won the 2007 IBM Lotus Award for Best Portal Solution
— based on our work for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool; a portal used by their grain testing team to catalogue sample grading and more. This is our third piece of award hardware from IBM & Lotus. (2005 Best Content management Solution, and 2006 Finalist for an IBM Global Services Teaming award.)

Learn about our [award winning] Portal Solution for The Saskatchewan Wheat Pool here.

When I asked our CTO, Rick Hugie what he thought the award means to Kryos, he matter of factly said , "From a customer's point of view it means... well, first of all, it validates that we are truly a premiere  portal solution builder. And it's great marketing collateral, because when customers want to ask what our skills are we can start by saying 'We've won this award for best IBM Portal Solution'. End of story. They can know that we know what we're talking about... that we truly are good at this stuff, which two years ago we couldn't say about this because they'd ask 'have you ever implemented this software?' and we'd have to say, 'Well, no'."

Baseball legend Dizzy Dean once said "It ain't bragging if you can do it". What Kryos did was go from no portal solutions to Best Portal Solution in just two years. As a marketer I can try to wrap all kinds of clever spin copy around that notion, or I can just let it stand for itself and let people draw their own conclusions.

Thinking about portal? More importantly, thinking about finding ways for you people to work faster, smarter? If so — OK I'm going to say it — IBM implicitly thinks you should give us a call or email us at

See You At
Lotusphere 2007! (Later today we'll have more details about our Lotusphere plans, including our booth.)
